The Scaldaferro Torronificio is located in Dolo, a charming town between Venice and Padua, along the Riviera del Brenta. It is far about 15 Km from Venice and 20 Km from Padua.
To get there take the highway Milano-Venezia coming from the northwest, the Venice-Trieste coming from the northeast and the Bologna-Padova coming from the south: you have to exit at Dolo-Mirano.
Leave the highway, follow the signs to Dolo. Arrived to the town, follow the signs to Mira, Mestre. The Torronificio is located along state highway of the Riviera del Brenta, opposite the Locanda Alla Posta Restaurant (31, Ca’ Tron street).
The visit to the Riviera del Brenta in any case deserves a deviation from the planned trip.
The country, called “the most romantic tourist route in Europe” is full of very beautiful natural angles and works of art. Famous throughout the world are the eighteenth century villas built along the banks of the Riviera del Brenta (which once connected Padua to Venice) by Venetian Nobles to spend their summer holidays.
The Venetian Nobles were transported on the river by a boat called Burchiello pulled from the banks by men, oxen or horses, while the goods were transported by boats called Burci.
